Obituary for Nancy Rene' Arthur
Nancy R. Arthur - who was incredibly loved by her family and friends - passed away in her home on July 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Arthur and Ruth Renzema Arthur, and her brother John Arthur. She is survived by her daughter Christian Coffman and her son Sean Coffman, her brother Max Arthur, her sister and brother-in-law Andrea and Wayne Larson, her sister-in-law Tina Arthur, as well as a niece and several nephews.
Nancy was born on March 10, 1953 in Boulder, Colorado where she grew up and graduated high school. She spent her early twenties living in Alamosa, Colorado and traveling the Rocky Mountains. In 1977, Nancy moved to Fort Collins where she obtained her Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees in Nutrition from Colorado State University. She spent the majority of her professional career as a Dietitian with Poudre Valley Hospital and then once she obtained her Certificate in Geriatrics, she began working as a Service Coordinator with Oakbrook and joined the Board of Directors with Meals on Wheels where she volunteered for 10 years.
Nancy was a person who loved life and had many interests. She loved to take her kids camping and hiking as they grew up. She loved to listen and dance to all kinds of music. She had a great interest in the Native American culture. She loved and surrounded herself with many different kinds of animals; but most of all she cherished her relationships with her friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on July 19 at 2 p.m. in the Cherokee Park Room at the CSU Lory Student Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Fort Collins.
Remembrance of Sonja Isakson:
Nancy and I grew up in Boulder, and as early as kindergarten, we walked to school together. All through school Nancy was a gentle soul and always had that pleasant understanding smile on her face.
